This is a message from my mother:

Hello,

This update is to let you know how things are. Paul had a rough day yesterday and by evening we had all said our goodbyes to him. Karen and Philip were here all evening. We all cried and prayed together. We told him it was all right to let go, and that Harold and various aunts were waiting for him up in Heaven. He said, "I know". We didn't know if he would make it through the night, but he did.

This morning he ate a good breakfast. Karen and Philip came for breakfast. There is a nurse's aide here and she's giving him a bath. His color is purplish and his legs are cold up to his knees. We know we are losing him, but we all pray that it will be an easy transition to his other life. We all told him how much we love him, and he said he loves us, too. We know you are praying for him and us.

Love to all, Marie
