News from the Upper Midwest Region

From the Summer 2005 issue of Hopes & Dreams, newsletter of the Illinois Chapter, Huntington's Disease Society of America.

The URL www.huntforthecure.us will give you specific details and registration information on the newest HD regional fundraiser to hit the Upper Midwest…PAINTBALL BIG GAME!!!

This is an incredible opportunity for HD due to the generosity of the paintball field owner, Splat Tag Paintball in Hudson, Wisconsin and a local paintball team, Wild Bunch. Splat Tag is letting us use the field for FREE and is giving us a DEEP discount on all the paint so every dollar raised in entry fees and paint boxes sold goes to HD. The local paintball team, Wild Bunch, is doing all the logistics, planning and execution of the event. The potential is huge! All proceeds will go to help care and cure initiatives for patients and families affected by Huntington’s Disease.

This event also reaches out to a different demographic (mostly young to mid-age men). We are lining up local and national celebrities, as well as teams from around the upper Midwest, to participate. We also hope that people from the HD community come out to support this event.

I encourage you to pass this link to friends and family, especially nephews, husbands, sons, and other young to mid-age men (or women) who might like to walk through the woods shooting paintballs at each other for charity! It promises to be a great time for all involved.
