Sunday, May 22, 2005

From the Winter 2005 issue of Hopes & Dreams, newsletter of the Illinois Chapter, Huntington's Disease Society of America.

May 2005 is National Huntington’s Disease Awareness month and National Brain Awareness month. The Illinois Chapter of the Huntington’s Disease Society of America is holding its first annual Team Hope Walk for a Cure from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the beautiful Danada Woods Forest Preserve in Wheaton, IL. Be sure to keep this date open so that YOU can participate in this worthy event.

If you have a love for the outdoors and/or want to make a difference in the lives of so many people suffering from this devastating disease, then this is the place for you! Participants may walk, jog or bike ride the trail.

Participants will collect pledges/donations for each mile completed and prizes will be awarded to the top three people raising the most donations. The money raised by this event will go to help find a cure for Huntington’s Disease and to provide services for HD patients and their families in our area.

Sign up as a participant, sponsor a participant or join us as a volunteer or spectator. Contact Dave Hodgson or Susie Leck at 630-717-5863 for more information. They can also be emailed at spiketdog@softhome.net or sue_angels@man.com respectively.

Your participation in ANY way is greatly needed and appreciated. A Team Hope Walk for a Cure Pledge Form is included on page 7 of this newsletter. The entrance fee for each walker is $10.00.

For more information see the Team Hope - Walk For a Cure Website.

Won’t you please join us to help raise funds to find a cure?
