Illinois State HD Convention Planned for April of 2000!

From the Fall 1999 issue of Hopes & Dreams, newsletter of the Illinois Chapter, Huntington's Disease Society of America.

The Illinois Chapter of HDSA, in cooperation with Rush-Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, will be bringing you the Illinois State HD Convention on April 1, 2000 in Oak Brook, Illinois.

All of our volunteer Board Members, as well as dedicated professionals from Rush-Presbyterian, will be bringing you a day filled with support, learning, social time, lunch, as well as door prizes and raffles!

Come to the "Ask the Doctor" session and your very own PERSONALIZED questions could be answered!

Stay tuned for additional information as we piece together this convention...a convention for you...built by you and your suggestions...and the professionals donating their time to you on that day.

The Illinois Chapter of HDSA welcomes you...and opens its doors to all!

There are many important benefits to bringing a 'mini-convention' right to your door:

It's Convenient:
The national conventions are truly wonderful but many of us cannot attend a function held in a far away State. We're going to be right in your backyard (Wyndham Garden Hotel, Oak Brook, IL).
It's a Convention 'for the People':
With the plan for many personalized breakout sessions for truly informal discussion/support for persons with HD, at-risk, caregivers, tested negative, etc., you can talk and share with persons who have 'walked in your shoes'.
It's a Learning Vehicle:
With the commitment of Dr. Kathleen Shannon from the Department of Neurological Sciences at Rush- Presbyterian-St. Luke's Medical Center, and many other professionals in the State, you will hear the latest news regarding the fight against HD.
